YMCA Names Director of Development

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley welcomes Briana Greco-Bossone to its leadership team as Major Gifts Officer/Director of Development. In her new position, Greco will lead the fundraising efforts for the new YMCA in Rome and work closely with senior leadership on the annual giving campaign, endowment development and donor relations.

Greco served as program manager for community development and grants at Central New York Home Health Network and was development coordinator for Cerebral Palsy of the Mohawk Valley and The Community Foundation. Her work experience includes identification and management of grant funding, establishing donor networks and management of development plans and fundraising.

In addition, Greco worked as a digital content specialist with the Syracuse SEO enterprise corporation Terekeet developing strategies and content for digital media accounts.

She earned her Master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism Innovation from Syracuse University in 2020 and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Utica College in 2017.

“With Briana’s experience, we will build on our strategic philanthropy program,” said YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley CEO Hank Leo. “She will be working side-by-side with our capital fund raising consultant, the George Philanthropy Group, as her first priority.”

“I am honored to be in a position to help the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley grow and enhance a culture committed to serving every member of our community,” Greco said.

“This is an exciting time for the YMCA with opportunities for growth in both Rome and Oneida,” she added. “I look forward to collaborating with local individuals and organizations to strengthen our communities through the YMCA’s mission to be a place where children, families and seniors have a sense of belonging and wellbeing.”

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley serves the greater Rome, Oneida and New Hartford areas with programs and services for the whole family.  We are a 501c3 charitable non-profit organization with two primary branches in Rome and Oneida and school-age childcare in the New Hartford area. The Y’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
