AMBA Blood Screening Program sponsored by ZONTA CLUB

Our member, the ZONTA CLUB of the Oneida Area is sponsoring the AMBA Blood Screening Program to those people wanting to take advantage of this popular blood screening event.  

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 18th  at the Canastota American Legion located at 325 S. Peterboro Street, Canastota, NY from 7:00 am-10:30 am.  You can have a very comprehensive battery of lab tests for only $41. This fee is payable by check or money order only made out to AMBA Wellness Programs.   No cash please. Proof of ID is required. Additionally, there is a $5.00 handling fee payable to the Zonta Club of Oneida which goes towards the many scholarships given to local girls and women.

Page Wildlife Center with Live Birds of Prey, Onondaga Audubon, wildlife artists and crafters, Year of Bee Display, guided trail walk, raffle basket extravaganza, wagon rides weather permitting, children's wild games and crafts, Little Bitty Farm, Out of the Cage, Chicken BBQ, Wanderers Rest, Lady Bug Cafe, and demonstrations by Oneida Karate Club.  Bluegrass music by NYS Old Fiddlers Association 10 am -noon, guitarist Ann Weider noon- 2 pm, and Mark Douglas with a folk/Americana venue. Family oriented with environmental nature fun.

The Madison County Historical Society is excited for the return of the 25th Annual Madison County Hop Fest. On Saturday, September 18 on the grounds of the Madison County Historical Society is the Madison County Hop Fest's Craft Beer Sampling from 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Participating Breweries- Foothill Hops, Talking Cursive, Meier Creek, Browns, Shed, Shiner, Sullivan's, Two Roads, Switchback, Faith American, Founders, Frog Alley, Great Lakes, Ithaca, Sixpoint, Skewered, Smuttynose, Southern Tier, Genesse, Stowe Cider, Ellicotville, Empire, Two Robbers, Long Trail, Ottercreek, Paradox, Paulaner, Allagash, Bells, Brewdog, Brooklyn, Cantiki, Cigar City, Common Roots, Down East, Firestone Walker, Kentucky Beer, Middle Ages, and Sierra Nevada.

 

The event will feature Hop Exhibits, Hop Shop, Homebrewing demonstrations, Exhibitors, raffles, Food Trucks (Brake from the Grind, Dough Boys BBQ, Knickerbocker Meats, and Oscar's Gourmet Steak and Crab), Live Music from Guy Young and the Rockers (2:00 pm- 5:30 pm) at the Madison County Historical Society. Tickets are required for the Craft Beer Sampling-$30 advance/$35 at the door.

 

This is a 21+ event where proper ID is required. Everyone attending the Madison County Hop Fest this year must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination, i.e. original vaccination card, or copy of vaccination card to security prior to entering the Madison County Historical Society’s grounds on September 18. Attendees at the Paired Beer Dinner on Sept. 17 at Foothill Hops Farm Brewery must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination, i.e. original vaccination card, or copy of vaccination card upon entry to the brewery. (No refund on Craft Beer Sampling tickets or Paired Beer Dinner tickets if these stated conditions are not met). The Madison County Hop Fest will be presented in accordance with applicable public health requirements as of the date of the event, affecting capacity, attendance prerequisites, procedures, and other preventative measures. Should the Hop Fest be canceled due to state and local rules and regulations prohibiting events to occur as a result of COVID-19, then a full refund will be honored.

 

Join us earlier in the day on September 18 from 10:30 am - 3:00 pm for a series of  Hop Heritage programs on hop houses at 11:00, 12:30, and 1:00 and 2:00 at the Oneida Public Library, 459 Main Street, Oneida (next door to the Madison County Historical Society, 435 Main Street, Oneida).

 

The tradition of promoting the art of craft brewing and the influence of the hop industry on New York State continues at the Madison County Hop Fest. Proceeds from the Hop Fest support the educational programming at the Madison County Historical Society. The Madison County Hop Fest is made possible from the generous support from The Gorman Foundation, White’s Farm Supply, Inc., Cricket Wireless, Liberty Tabletop, Tanner Insurance Agency Inc., and Hartman Enterprises, Inc. The Madison County Historical Society is a nonprofit organization that operates both a museum and the Mary King Research Library located at 435 Main Street in Oneida. The society continues to preserve, collect, promote, and exhibit the history of Madison County and its fifteen towns and one city through the development of programs that enhance Madison County’s heritage. The historical society’s headquarters are housed in an 1849 Gothic Revival Villa that is listed on the State and National Registry of Historic Places.
