Oneida Community Mansion House presents Living in Utopia

WHAT: Discussion: Living in Utopia

WHEN: April 15, 2018 - 1:00 pm

WHERE: The Oneida Community Mansion House

The Oneida Community was one of many utopian experiments of the nineteenth-century active from 1848 through 1880. Primarily a religious community, its members lived as one family sharing everything and believed they were creating heaven on earth. But it was also a very successful economic venture.

What is it like to live in a Utopian or intentional community? Lynne Barnes, poet and former member of the Kerista Community in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco, will join our discussion on the experience of communal living. You are invited to join the discussion with your experiences, ideas and insights.

Free to members, non-members: $7, students: $3.

Advance registration is not required.
